"On My Own" Les Misérables Project, part 3

This is the colored version of the previous video, with some slight modifications to the text. The color palette I used is from kgillsrpc.tumblr.com, and is a Les Misérables color scheme (I used #477494, #9fbfde, #72706e, and #fefefe). I used these colors to help convey the tone and subject of the song.

"On My Own" Les Misérables Project, part 2

This is the newer version of my "On My Own" typography video. Now the text is in sync with the audio and fades in instead of just appearing. I think that "On" may disappear from the screen at the very end of the video, but I've already started to fix that. I plan to change the color scheme and the way some of the words appear on the screen.

Random Photoshop Fun

So I was taking candid photos of my friends before prom, and this priceless moment happened. I decided it needed to be immortalized forever, so naturally I put the original image through various photoshop filters just for fun. I personally like the first modification more than the second, but it was also more complex. For the first image, I changed the levels, curves. brightness, and saturation and threw a few filters and fill layers over everything. For the second image, I messed with the levels and saturation before using gaussian blurs and a few noise filters.

On My Own-Timing

This is a continuation of my earlier post. I finally finished putting in all of the lyrics to "On My Own" and adjusting the timing with the audio. However, near the end the audio seemed to cut short, and I'm not sure what's causing the error.

"On My Own" Les Misérables Project, part 1

This is the first part of my larger kinetic typography project, a video of the song "On My Own" from Les Misérables. This is only the first stanza of the song, and my main goal at this point is to line up the audio with the visual. This is the first time I have attempted to match audio in AfterEffects, so I've had some difficulties with the controls (mainly because almost every tutorial I've found assumes that the individual is already proficient in AfterEffects). However, I think that the audio and words should be synced now and the text should be in straight lines with good spacing. I plan to add in effects and change the formatting after I finish matching the music and the lyrics for the rest of the song.

Second Attempt

This is my second attempt at kinetic typography in AfterEffects, and I suppose it's a bit better than the last. It's still rather low-quality, but I experimented with the different Effects & Presets until I found some that I liked. I also played around with the timing of the words and the positioning until it didn't look quite as dreadful. It still seems a bit choppy to me, but I'll try to work that out in the future.

Very First AfterEffects Thing

So, this is the very first thing I've ever done in Adobe AfterEffects. I'm not very proficient at the program yet, so this is really poor quality. But I did learn how to use keyframes, change composition length, and work on timing, so it's not a complete loss. All the knowledge I used for this was gained from videos on YouTube and Vimeo.
